Create your own sunshine on rainy day!

The British winter really does deliver some wet weather corkers! We love a beach walk but when the weather isn’t not playing ball and outside is not an option (for the time being) it’s totally fine light the fire, pop the kettle on and cosy up.

Why not try some of our rainy-day ideas and create your own sunshine to banish those grey clouds away!

Curl up with a good book

We love nothing more than jumping into a book and being transported to another world or on an adventure. We love checking out Waterstones new reads to make sure we always have an exciting book on the go! But some of the best books we’ve read have come from friend recommendations so get asking and go pop that kettle on too!

Get crafty

Rock art is a lovely way to relax and mix creativity with some fun! It’s so simple to do, just get yourself some acrylic pens, we love these from HobbyCraft. Nextt ime you’re out on a walk, keep your eye out for smooth rounded stones so you have a collection ready to go next time the rain clouds come! Once you’ve made your creations, why not hide them round your local area for others to find.

Refresh your wardrobe

A rainy day is the perfect time to go through your wardrobe and bag up any unloved items ready to take to the charity shop. We promise you’ll feel lighter in mind (and wardrobe space!) afterwards. Start by getting it all out on your bed and be ruthless with items you never wear. Why not buy some quality coordinated hangers so when you’re done it’s a joy to look at!

Discover somewhere new to visit

Take a Google map and zoom right out. Close your eyes, pick a spot and zoom right in to find a new spot to research. Who knows, it might be North Devon and we would love to see you here on your next adventure!

Come discover North Devon on your next adventure. Come rain or shine, this beautiful corner of England brings together coast and countryside with plenty of pub fireplaces to cosy up next to as well! Find out how we can create your own personalised retreat at www.sandseasparetreats.com
